At The Royal George, food is at the heart of what we do. Every dish should look good, smell great, and taste amazing. And we believe that to achieve the best possible food you need the best possible ingredients. Our fish is caught, sold, and cooked on the same day, fresh from docks either in Appledore or close by. Our meat is sustainably reared on Exmoor and our poultry is free range, all sourced from local Devon farmers. Even the fruit and vegetables we use are selected on what is best for that time of year. Because of this, our menu changes regularly, as we take advantage of daily deliveries from our suppliers.
There’s something wonderful about eating good food with the people closest to you, especially after a long week. Sunday lunch is a great time to relax and to catch up with friends and family. Here at the George, every Sunday we have a special menu dedicated to the wonderful British roast dinner, we offer a selection of roast meats with all the trimmings, as well as fish and vegetarian/ vegan options.
